Quite simply the training package they receive before setting foot in a classroom. This includes an introduction to school protocols, a study of the characteristics of excellent teaching and the investigation into the factors that contribute to outstanding lessons.
They are then introduced to lesson planning techniques that enable them to prepare sessions that are objective in targeting learning outcomes, differentiated to the needs of each individual child in the class and measurable in terms of the progress that children make in their learning.
Our maxim is that assessment is the key to future planning.

Following the completion of training each coach receives a monitoring visit conducted by our team of trained assessors. The assessment format used is based on Ofsted criteria and would be familiar to Headteachers as a tool for observing teachers as part of their ongoing professional development.
We set a high standard for accreditation as an instructor and a coach must achieve 70% or more to achieve this status. ie: a good in terms of Ofsted inspection standards.

Premier Sport undertakes to conduct regular observations of its instructors. As Education advisor I am available to offer advice with regards to teaching methodology and importantly conduct frequent moderated assessments with our team of assessors.

To be honest as a Headteacher with nearly twenty years experience in the primary sector I don’t believe that to be the case. These people hold qualifications in the sports they are teaching and are incredibly enthusiastic in their delivery. That enthusiasm communicates itself to the children in their care. I often found it to be the case with teachers that of all the subjects they were required to teach as part of the national curriculum P.E. posed the greatest challenge.
Working with a qualified sports instructor in your school can be a source of stimulus to the children and a means of enhancing the P.E. curriculum.

Yes. As a Headteacher would I have employed them as part of any staff team I was responsible for and as a father would I have been happy with them teaching my children. 2/2 has to be achieved on this test.
